Dawn's Professional and Personal Background
Dawn has taught in two Jefferson County Schools (Green Gables Elementary and Meadowlark Cottage School), in one Denver County School (College View Elementary), and has conducted hands-on science classes for Science Matters in Colorado. Her three year position as the Lead Bookseller of the Children’s Department at Barnes & Noble, Littleton, Colorado, required specialized knowledge of children’s literature. Dawn’s first business, Colorado Nature Note Cards, involved creating and marketing her own wildflower nature cards to over 300 retailers throughout Colorado.
Dawn enjoys power walking, hiking, swimming, reading, traveling, drawing, and playing guitar. She has participated in archaeological excavations in Colorado, Belize, and Panama. She and her husband have been happily married for over 40 years and have two children. Their daughter is trained as a Veterinary Technician and runs her own pet services business, SmallPetCarebySam.com and their son is a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) at an Englewood engineering firm.
Dawn Kolber-Grebe established Dawn’s In-Home Tutoring LLC, based in Littleton, Colorado in February 2009. Since then, she has taught over 185 students. Dawn has a BA in Psychology, cum laude, from Boston University. In addition, she has completed many courses in Anthropology and Archaeology through the Continuing Education Program at the University of Colorado-Boulder. As an avocational archaeologist, Dawn is currently researching and writing a book on a Classic Maya female burial from Altar de Sacrificios, Guatemala.
